week 15

8.5"x11" I decided to leave some white in this. It felt done.

The next 3 are done in a 5"x8" book. This was so fun! I used the 9 heads formula for fashion portraits, and then i used models out of vogue to get the information about that features. I think there is a ton more work to find in this process!

I finally made it down to draw at the train station. It took quite some time to actually find it. The buses on that side of town are terrifying to share roads with! But here I am so happy to finally accomplish this goal! The building is gorgeous inside and out!

The first few are hand colored photocopy multiples

This one I want to wait to finish til I get a few other markers, i want to see what happens when I fill the whole thing with different colors and I think I'll do some patterns too, take it to the busy extreme.

I think i need to do something with the background here but i'm not sure yet what.

This one is very ordered, not super planned out, but logically done as I went along. I definitely like how it turned out.

i kind of like this.

doodle because the pen just feels so good.

It was fun to use pencil for once. I think I'll do a bunch more of these in pencil and then I'll do a bunch in pen.

These are from various magazines. I am enjoying this quite a bit. What I like is it's a still figurative reference but I don't feel obligated to make the drawing look like the original. I can't express something new though in reference to current pop culture.

I know I still have a lot of studying of the face/figure to do, but all in good time. I'm trying to maintain a sense of play in these. I want to get where I want to go by continuing to draw and keeping it loose and fast rather than laboring over it, which is essentially what happens when I take an academic approach to drawing.

I do feel like these show a great sense of growth from everything before. It was pretty cool, the other day I had this book and the very first book in my bag and it was cool to look back to those and see the difference, so much more confidence, and there's a sense of narrative instead of just being a thing on a page. I plan to keep this up

I also want to take these figures, digitally reduce them, and play with color schemes on thumbnails, then I can make a decision on what to fill the original with.
