mid week 9

I want to collect other peoples drawings too! It’s fun seeing people draw. I did get to some of the pages that I had added color to, which does relate back to the Claus Oldenberg. We didn’t meet for video chat this week because I wasn’t able to be near the internet at our designated time, but I posted on the blog the work I did when I returned and Mark gave me feedback at our next meeting. He loved the grey shoe the most. I love those from the airport, proof I need to get out more.
Goals: get out more. Don’t scribble. Economy of line. Study the head and face. Measure. (I never measure)

I actually really loved drawing yesterday. I got lots of great contacts through drawing and wrote it in the book. I'm super excited. I'm taking an impromptu trip home for the weekend to my parents Halloween party. I'm going to keep up this momentum!

I worked from my eyes and from my mind. I think they are both important.
Granted these may not be fully realized but really feeling breakthrough.

These are drawings with candle, ink, and acrylic.
I used a pen made out if a soda can for the ink.

mid week 8

We skyped Oct 22, my birthday! We discussed my New York trip. I presented the pictures I loved including “dropped coffee” by Claus Oldenberg. I liked the use of color in that. I also like the line quality and study factor.
Goals for next week: Draw more people in space. Think about varying the ways objects are attached to the space.  Get out more! Make and use the soda can pen.

I made all of these drawings on my trip to New York City. They are in the order that they are in the books, but I switched around, so they aren't posted in chronological order. One thing is for sure the big books are really hard to draw in in public. I kept trying to get that big one out but then it never fit on any of the tiny tables in NYC. I think I prefer the middle size, but the small one fits in my pocket.

You'll notice, I've been getting into drawing people more than objects, they take a lot more time and a little more anxiety, but I think they are more interesting. drawing people is more my interest. I didn't get a chance "finish" most of these as much as I want to, so I think I'll do the photocopy thing and work on some of these more.
